Rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. Solo travellers will be paired with another traveller of the same gender.
There is also an optional single supplement available on most trips for travellers who prefer to have their own room.

How much spending money do I need?
How much spending money do I need?
Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip.
You can have a plate of food for a street vendor for AU$5-$20, however there are always more expensive options. From a mid-range, sit-down restaurant, expect to pay AU$20-$100 - not
including alcohol.
What should I pack
What should I pack
Below are some essential items for this trip. Please ensure you pack appropriately for the weather at the time of year you are travelling.
- Lightweight clothing. You will need to bring a mixture of lightweight clothing and layers. Long shirts and pants are useful to protect against the harsh Australian sun. Clothes should be easy to wash and dry. Maybe bring a change of smart clothes for dinner in larger cities. Australia is pretty casual; shorts or a skirt and a top, with sandals, is our usual warm-weather wardrobe.
- Comfortable, closed-in shoes. These will help protect your feet from cuts and scratches when walking through bush/grasslands and act as a protective barrier in the rare case of a bite or sting. A pair of sandals or thongs/flip-flops are great for the beach.
- Sun protection – a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
- Water bottle.
- Sarong/Shawl
- Waterproof jacket (shell)
- Try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables and use your hotel safe. It’s also a good idea to purchase a money belt or pouch that is easily hidden.
- We strongly recommend that you photocopy all important documents, e.g. air tickets, passport, vaccination certificate, etc. and keep the copies separate from the originals. While not valid, a photocopy makes it much easier to obtain replacements if necessary.
You won’t be needing…
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Blankets or sheets
- We ask that you bring only one main piece of luggage (backpack/suitcase) and a day pack.
What are the luggage restrictions?
What are the luggage restrictions?
We always recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. Australia is a BIG country so dragging around a huge bag is not fun.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?
While travelling on this tour, you'll experience a vast array of wonderful food. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, only some meals are included in this tour price.
This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. If you have dietary requirements and/or food allergies, please let The Operator know at the time of booking or prior to departure.
